In high school, I had the biggest crush on my friend Michelle. But in order to tell her my true feelings, I had to work up the nerve and expose myself to vulnerability. But I couldn't be courageous enough to be vulnerable, and it was an opportunity lost.
While confessing to a high school crush was a small thing in my life, it taught me that if you don't want to experience vulnerability, you will lose opportunities in life. Think about opportunities you could take to be vulnerable. What would be the triumph that could happen if you availed yourself to the opportunity to be hurt?
